Dennis Ojeda was a Mexican-American male living in California. His father was Bart Ojeda and he had a sister, Luz.
History[]
Every summer, his father would send him and Luz to live with their abuela in Aguayo, New Mexico. There, they would make birria and pray to the saints together, while their cousin Hector trapped rabbits. Luz thought it was like a dream, but he hated it and missed the city. ("My Perfect World")
Dennis Ojeda joined the World War II campaign and was sent overseas. He did transport duty in a convoy in North Africa, but was killed in battle in or around February 1943. Upon learning of this, his father Bart visited Luz Ojeda in the Colinas de Oro War Relocation Center to inform her of his death and to urge her to come home. ("Shatter Like a Pearl")
