Down Mexico Way was a film starring Gene Autry. Chester Nakayama and Walt Yoshida claimed to their families that they were watching this film at the Orpheum, when actually they were attending Walt Yoshida's bachelor party. Walt summarized its plot by describing a typical Gene Autry film: "Gene and Smiley sing a few songs, track down the bad guys, and it all ends with a fiesta I assume."
