George Chambers is a character in AMC's The Terror. He is one of two cabin boys on HMS Erebus during the Franklin expedition.

In The Show[]

He is first seen on the main deck of Erebus in episode 3. After talking about the circumstances of Lieutenant Graham Gore's death with Sergeant David Bryant, they both hear a noise in the distance and Bryant reassures Chambers that it is only the ice they are hearing. Chambers then asks Bryant what it is like to kill a man and he replies that it is more fun when you mean to do it.

He is later seen talking with John Weekes and Charles Best after Sir John Franklin's death and how the numerous deaths started occurring after killing the Netsilik Shaman and why the best men are being killed. The three of them joins John Morfin soon after in singing "The Silver Swan" in remembrance of Sir John. Chambers manages to survive all the way up to the Spring of 1848 but dies alongside many others on the journey south due to disease, starvation, and exposure. Chambers along with Weekes is later mentioned by Captain Francis Crozier when he is speaking in a distraught state while recovering from injuries after killing the Tuunbaq.

Trivia[]
