Henry Wilkes is a minor character in AMC's The Terror. He is a private in the Royal Marines on HMS Terror.
In The Show[]
Wilkes' primary appearance is in episode 4 where he is first listening to Sgt. Tozer's speech to the remaining marines of Terror. Wilkes along with the other marines attend caulker's mate Cornelius Hickey's lashing. His final fate is never shown and is presumed dead by the end of episode 10.
In The Book[]
At one point, the ice opens up under the tent where the Terror's marines are sleeping, nearly all of them drown and Wilkes is the only one who survives. However, he dies from hypothermia shortly after.
Trivia[]
- An engraved clothes brush belonging to Wilkes was recovered from Victory Point in 1859.
- Wilkes was the youngest member of Terror's marine detachment.
