Luz and Chester at Hidden Gate Farms

Luz and Chester arriving at Hidden Gate Farms

Hidden Gate Farms was a farm complex with horse stables in California.

History[]

Following Executive Order 9066, the Japanese Americans from Terminal Island were sent her as a temporary holding facility. There, they were made to live in horse stables. Asako Nakayama tried to make the best of the bad situation by sweeping the straw off the floor.

They did not stay there long, as they soon received new orders to relocate to the Colinas de Oro War Relocation Center, a Japanese internment camp. ("All the Demons Are Still in Hell")

Behind the scenes[]

  • The scenes at this location were filmed at actual horse stables where Japanese Canadians were held while awaiting a fence to be built. Showrunner Alexander Woo stated that the most inspiring moment of The Terror: Infamy for him came when an extra stood there where his parents stood in 1942 and for the first time felt like he understood what his parents had gone through.[1]
