Dr. John Peddie is a minor character in AMC's The Terror. He is the surgeon on HMS Terror.
In The Show[]
Dr. Peddie first appears in episode 2 with the other officers of the ships. Later in episode 4, he and the other surgeons are seen examining marine Private William Heather's injury. In episode 6 Subordinate Officer's Steward John Bridgens tells Captain Crozier that Dr. Peddie died in the carnivale fire after overhearing it from Tom Hartnell and he volunteers to be Mr. Goodsir's assitant.

- A dessert spoon and a table fork belonging to Dr. Peddie were recovered from Erebus Bay and Repulse Bay between 1854 and 1859.
- Peddie had lines in the original draft of episode 1, but these were given to McDonald in the final version.
- Peddie is inaccurately portrayed as the assistant surgeon of HMS Terror.
