In a dream, Kazu appeared to his childhood friend Yamato-san in the afterlife. He told Yamato-san of his life, including his family, who were all there with them, having all died at the same time in Hiroshima. Among them was this great-granddaughter, who turned to show Yamato-san her face, badly scarred from the radiation of the nuclear bomb dropped on the city by U.S. forces in World War II.
