Miki Ishikawa
Miki Ishikawa is an actress who portrays Amy Yoshida on The Terror: Infamy. [1] Ishikawa is an Asian-American actor born in Denver, Colorado. Ishikawa's first major starring television role was as Vicky on Zoey 101. She also had a recurring role as Cynthia Chen on Hit and has also worked as a writer and producer.[2]
In an interview with AMC, Ishikawa stated that she had some knowledge of Japanese internment from school, but they had simply blazed past it as though it wasn't important subject matter. To prepare for the role, she visited a local bookshop, but could only find one book regarding the subject. She then found several excellent texts on the Internet.
She stated that the relationship between her character and Ken Uehara came out their situation at camp and that he was very different from anyone she had known before. She stated that Amy's heart was pure in changing Ken's answers on the Statement of United States Citizen of Japanese Ancestry and that she didn't wish to see him be hauled off to face unknown consequences. She further stated that her character's life was forever changed by seeing people killed in front of her.[3]
